Paul Kornberg, MD

Paul B. Kornberg, MD is a practicing physician who joined Rehabilitation and Electrodiagnostics in July 2002 and sits on the Board of Directors.

Dr. Kornberg earned his medical degree at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.  Dr. Kornberg completed a dual residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine.  He also earned his Master of Science in Rehabilitation Technology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.  He holds two board certifications; Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and Disability Analyst. He is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Dr. Kornberg previously served as Assistant Professor of both Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and Pediatrics at Eastern Virginia Medical School, Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters, Norfolk, Virginia.

Dr. Kornberg’s practice focuses on Pediatric Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.  Since 2002, he has headed the pediatric rehabilitation program at St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital of Tampa.  Since 2006 to present, he serves as both the Medical Director of Adult and Pediatric Rehabilitation at St. Joseph’s Hospital.  In addition, he serves as the Medical Director of Pediatric Rehabilitation at Tampa General Hospital since 2006.

Dr. Kornberg has been a member of the Brain & Spinal Cord Injury Advisory Council for the Florida Department of Health since 2009, a Program Surveyor for the State of Florida Brain and Spinal Cord Injury Program since 2006 and a Pediatric Rehabilitation Assistant Professor at the University Of South Florida School Of Medicine since 2004.

Dr. Kornberg is active in numerous professional organizations, and is a frequent speaker at local, state and national meetings. Dr. Kornberg is fluent in English and conversational Spanish.

Daniel Leary, DO

Daniel Leary, DO is a practicing physician who joined Rehabilitation and Electrodiagnostics in August 2022.

Dr. Leary serves as the Medical Director of the Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility at Advent Health Tampa since 2022.

Dr. Leary is board eligible with the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

Dr. Leary is active in numerous professional organizations.

Neha Kohli, MD

Neha Kohli, MD is a practicing physician who joined Rehabilitation and Electrodiagnostics in January 2022.

Dr. Kohli serves as the Medical Director for Kindred Bay Area St Petersburg’s Acute Rehabilitation Unit since December 2022.

Dr. Kohli earned her medical degree at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine in Tampa, Florida. She completed her residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Northwestern Medicine Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital, serving as Chief Resident during her senior year.

Dr. Kohli is Board Certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

Dr. Kohli is active in numerous professional organizations. Dr. Kohli is fluent in English and Hindi.

Marissa McCarthy, MD

Dr. McCarthy, MD is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and sub-specialty board certified in Brain Injury Medicine.

Dr. McCarthy received acupuncture training at the Helms Medical Center and is a certified Battlefield acupuncture instructor.

Dr. McCarthy is Program Director for the University of South Florida Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Residency Training program.  She holds an academic appointment at the University of South Florida in the department of Neurology as an Associate Professor.

Dr. McCarthy earned her medical doctorate at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. She completed her internship in Internal Medicine at New York Medical College and residency training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston Texas. She is an invited exam question writer and oral board examiner for the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

Dr. McCarthy has multiple publications including research related to traumatic brain injury, sleep, disorders of consciousness, and outcomes. She has written book chapters for major physical medicine an rehabilitation texts. She is currently authoring a book about resiliency and brain health.

Sarah Michelle Pastoriza, DO

Sarah Michelle Pastoriza, DO is a practicing physician who joined Rehabilitation and Electrodiagnostics in 2024. Dr. Pastoriza earned her medical degree at Lake Erie College of osteopathic medicine and completed residency in MetroHealth Medical Center in 2018, serving as Chief Resident in her senior year.  She also completed a pain fellowship at the University of Alabama in Birmingham 2019, and completed a secondary fellowship in interventional orthobiologics at the Centeno-Schultz Clinic in Broomfield, CO in 2020. She worked for University Hospitals in Cleveland, OH, running the consult service at the main campus, along with doing her pain clinic. She also functioned as Associate Program Director for the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation program. She left this position to move closer to family and now works at Memorial Healthcare System in Hollywood, FL. In this position she works as an Interventional Pain physician, and continues to work in general inpatient rehabilitation through call responsibilities.

Dr. Pastoriza is double board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and in Pain Medicine. She is active in multiple professional organizations. She speaks both English and Spanish.
