Benjamin Cooper, DO

Dr. Benjamin Cooper is a board-certified physiatrist with clinical interests in wound care, amputee rehabilitation, and neuro-rehabilitation. He serves as Medical Director of Rehabilitation Services at HCA Florida Blake Hospital.

Dr. Cooper began his career as a firefighter and paramedic, which laid the foundation for his hands-on, patient-centered approach. He earned his medical degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine – Bradenton Campus, completed his transitional year at Aventura Hospital and Medical Center, and went on to complete his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Mercy Medical Center in New York.

In addition to his clinical role, Dr. Cooper holds an MBA and MS in Healthcare Leadership from Cornell University and is committed to advancing innovative, collaborative models of care.

Outside of medicine, he enjoys the outdoors and spending time with his family and friends.
